Verbal Brawl at CrossFit New England

Let me fess up. Things have grown ugly in the state of Massachusetts  ( I spelled checked that for you, Coakley) since the election of Brown to fill the eponomyous Kennedy seat.

Kevin Daigle who is also a CrossFit blogger for CFNE exchanged “words” over the past two days. And, we did so…very privately on FaceBook.

I started by posting this article to my FaceBook wall. I purported:

Presenting our new iteration of a post modern senator, junk and all…

g0mCA

  • Kevin Daigle: I find it very entertaining the so-called progressive and socially liberated left is pretending to have a problem with this.
  • Amanda Beals: in theory i have no problem with Brown’s artistry. however, i think you can take the man of the stripper scene, but you cant take the stripper out of the man. it makes me think of levi johnson and ann coulter allegedly strident republicans that are more show than substance.
  • Kevin Daigle: I think the branding of people and what they can or should and should not do by the labels Democrat, Republican, Liberal, and Conservative is the real problem. And how either side conveniently changes those expectations to meet their current needs to bitch about the situation at hand
  • Tom Douvan: @Amanda: I think in this case, his johnson is out of his levis.

Later on in day, Daigle posits this:

  • Kevin Daigle wonders how long it’ll be before Cambridge declares independence and militarizes it’s borders
  • Amanda Beals: oh, daigle, we have very different view points. but i do believe that peoples republic will have a lot to say on your new senator
  • Kevin Daigle: Fortunately, people stopped listening to them along time ago…. much like the french, whom they aspire to be.
  • Amanda Beals: actually all of the french have moved to williamsburg, Brooklyn. i dont care as long as brattle street Burdicks Chocolate shop remains in Cambridge, i remain an ardent former Cantabrigian
  • Kevin Daigle: I will go there to consume their delicious fare but that’s about it.
  • Amanda Beals: I will call this conversation a respectful draw. i presume you do not want to hear how much i love hilary.
  • Kevin Daigle: No and I doubt I could ever hope to comprehend why
  • Amanda Beals: politics aside…still friends?
  • Kevin Daigle: I don’t hate people based on politics beals

Now while I vehemently disagree with all Daigle purports politically, it is the man I respect, not his politics. In addition to being a powerhouse CrossFitter constantly seeking to  improve himself, Daigle has a singularity of purpose that I find quite laudable.

Save fatuous platitudes, Daigle and I will never meet up at the Madeline Albright  Center at Wellesley College to discuss momentous strides made by singular  women during the Clinton Administration.  However, due to our shared CrossFit journey, which is more brutal than any election, I if I called upon Daigle he would have my back without reservation. I live in a very, very, very, super dangerous town: Wellesley.

I wish more Democrats (or as Daigle stated MoonBats) and Republicans could exchange our ideas in the playful, meaningful way, we did… Then, maybe Coakley might have won.

There is a small challenge to the kumbaya. Some things should not be subject to politics. It is when people disagree on fundamental issues of human well-being and human dignity that friendship and humor have to come to an end. Civility should always remain. I may have lost a friend yesterday over my core belief that something is wrong with us as individual human beings and as a society when we think it is okay for people to get sick and die because they do not have money–when we think the well-being of human beings should be subject to the marketplace. Something is wrong with us if that is who we are. This is not a political issue. Let the politics play out about the details, but if everyone is not legitimately on board with general human welfare, then we are a depraved people.

Is there a cell phone that allows you to play your facebook games? Can you recommend a good cell phone? I have Sprint, have to stay with them because contract isn’t up for another year but I can upgrade my phone now. I really want one were I can play my facebook games if that even exist, if not what are your thoughts and expediences on other types of phone models. I saw the new phone and it’s out of stock until the end of summer.
